Warrior Path 2019 Debut Album Music Review

Warrior Path: Warrior Path

Traditional Heavy/Power Metal
5.0/5.0

Warrior Path comes from the musical imagination of Greek guitarist and songwriter Andreas Sinanoglou. He had a working idea of his music swimming in his mind from the age of 18. Sinanoglou was able to bring the music to life with the help of producer and musician Bob Katsionis (Firewind, Outloud, Serious Black), long time friend and drummer Dave Rundle, and Beast In Black vocalist Yannis Papadopoulos. Score a win with that choice. The result is Warrior Path's first long player, simply self-titled.

Warrior Path

With Warrior Path, Sinanoglou has created traditional melodic heavy power metal, which is intensely guitar driven and epic in nature. As a composer, the guitarist developed many, if not most, of his songs by creating the melodies and harmonies with acoustic guitar. Throughout you will find many songs led by acoustic guitar before developing into powerful heavy power metal and filled with breathtaking guitar solos from both Sinanoglou and Katsionis. Vocalist Papadopoulos adds more power and epicness to the mixture with his soaring classic heavy metal vocal style. It's all quite ambitious and exciting heavy metal.

As for the songs, as mentioned above, several start and conclude with spry acoustic guitar work including Mighty Pirates, Dying Bird Of Prey, Vahalla I'm Coming, and Black Night. The latter two need some more elaboration. Vahalla I'm Coming is the most simple of acoustic examples, with voice over acoustic guitar in a symphonic metal anthem. Black Night is another metal anthem which leads with voice and acoustic guitar before rising with big drums, epic riffs, and large guitar solos. Alternatively, with The Hunter, Stormbringers, and Fight For Your Life, Sinanoglou can offer you more traditional heavy metal with the gallop and groove of power metal.

All in all, with Warrior Path, guitarist Andreas Sinanoglou has created some epic and entertaining, guitar-forward, classic heavy metal. If you love the genre, you need to get this album. You can also put it on your short list for one of 2019's best traditional heavy metal albums. Yeah, it's that good. Quite recommended.
