Three years into the success of their first album Twisted. Tied Up. Tangled., Fools For Rowan deliver an EP of six tunes, Who Killed Amanda Day. After this listen, I'm sure their fans will be longing for more, and sooner rather than later.
Fools For Rowan make it seem so easy. The band effortlessly blends the best arena ready Eighties melodic hard rock with a modern flair. Every song here has a hook and groove that elevates them above the mundane alt/indie field. You've got four basic rockers with Killed a Man Today, Refuge, Chameleon, and You Can't Stop Me. There's Crave, a nice duet destined to be a radio-friendly single. The EP wraps up with Leave, a nice ballad, characteristically emotional as FFR can be. Of course, vocalist Erin Mullins soars, putting most male singers to shame. And guitarist Rachel Brandsness rips it up. What more could you ask for?
Oh yeah, I know, a full length album. But I think we covered that ground. Who Killed Amanda Day is easily recommended.
The Who Killed Amanda Day EP will only make rabid Fools For Rowan fans drooling for more.
