Formosa: Sorry For Being Sexy
Formosa - Sorry For Being Sexy CD Album Review

Formosa: Sorry For Being Sexy

Hard Rock
3.0/5.0

Formed a mere three years ago, Formosa is a power trio from Essen Germany. They return with their second full-length album, Sorry For Being Sexy. The title was enough to spark my curiosity, but then I saw my first photo of the band. Who are they kidding? I guess it's all tongue-in-cheek humor.

But then you listen to their songs and read the lyrics. They really do think they're sexy, or mostly just horny. Formosa plays hard rock with a notable influx of both punk and sleaze rock. Their music is raw and rowdy, brisk and bristling. Put together, Formosa plays raunch and roll, with a fond fascination for sex and erections, and not always necessarily their own. As their press material states so frankly, hard rock can be queer. Ergo the songs Johnny The Beaver, Sorry For Being Sexy, or Bad Boys. And then there's their fondness for beer with F*ck Up Your Liver. But sometimes Formosa just wants to be true hard rockers, with Proud To Be Loud and Never Stop Rock n Roll. For sure, Formosa can definitely kick out the jams as a rocking power trio. But you just may want to take a hot shower afterwards.
