Steel Night: Fight Till The End
Steel Night - Fight Till The End Music Review

Steel Night: Fight Till The End

Traditional Heavy Metal
4.0/5.0

From the heartland of Mexico, Steel Night was formed a mere three years ago and then releasing a simple one song demo and a two song EP. But the band gained substantial recognition by winning the Wacken Metal Battle in Mexico, which transported them to the mecca of metal festivals, Wacken in Germany. With these accolades on their bullet belts, Steel Night now drops their debut long player, Fight Till The End. Originally self-released in Mexico, the album is getting larger distribution in Europe by Germany's Iron Shield Records.

Steel Night

With all the Wacken fanfare, you may wonder if Steel Night has the heavy metal chops. Indeed. If anything, they're off to a fine start. Steel Night plays traditional heavy metal, straight out of the Eighties and in the fashion of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Classic metal never gets old, whatever the century or decade, and Steel Night gets it right. You can hear the twin guitar harmony, the gallop and groove in the rhythm section, the blistering lead guitar solos, and the clean, melodic, and sometimes soaring metal vocals.

As for the tunes, Steel Night wants to affirm their loyalty to heavy metal at the start with We Are Metal. It's a long song, at seven minutes, but Steel Night delivers epic heavy metal throughout with tight riffs and groove before dropping some killer guitar solos. What follows from this introduction is a solid mixture of heavy, power, and speed metal. With their powerful bass lines and vigorous drumming, Run For Your Life, Heavy Metal Storm, Fight Till The End, and Wings of Steel are pretty much horse races from the gate, galloping to the guitar solos. All in all, with Fight Till The End, Mexico's Steel Night offers a fine album of genuine, keep it true, heavy metal for the 21st century. Recommended. Let's hope for more in the future.
