Impellitteri is, of course, legendary shred guitarist Chris Impellitteri's band. Formed in 1986 with vocalist Rob Rock, the band has released numerous EPs and eleven studio albums in more than 30 years, the most recent being 2018's The Nature Of The Beast. This was followed by a compilation, Wake the Beast - The Impellitteri Anthology in 2022 and a massive box set of early material, The Complete Beast 1987-2009 in 2023. Now, Impellitteri returns with latest long player War Machine, which introduces Paul Bostaph, of Slayer and Kerry King fame, on drums. Chris Impellitteri said of the new album:
"This music expresses where we are today as a band emotionally and technically! This is probably the most sincere album we have made because we just played music that moved us emotionally without chasing any trends or other bands. We definitely played our asses off! And so, I truly hope everyone gets a chance to listen to this new album and rock with us! I am looking forward to touring behind this album!"
Musically, any Impellitteri album needs little explanation, especially for fans of the band. It's heavy and fast speed metal led by Impellitteri's rabid riffs and roaring, furious, and fast guitar solos. Is there any variation to the formula? Nope. In 2004, Impellitteri released Pedal To The Metal. That's the music in a nutshell. Enjoy the attached videos to get your taste of the new album.
Simply, War Machine is classic, and uncompromising, Impellitteri: fast and heavy guitar shredding speed metal led by Chris Impellitteri's furious fret work. If you dig it, get it.

By far, Sweden's Eclipse is one of my favorite bands. Always consistent and always entertaining, Eclipse has been delivering their 21st century version of melodic metal rock since songwriter, producer ... [ Read More ]
