Crazy Lixx: Thrill Of The Bite

Now into their third decade in the music industry, we catch up with Sweden's Crazy Lixx, still piloted by vocalist, and only original member, Danny Rexon. 2024 was a busy year for band. In celebration of 20 plus years, the band dropped Two Shots At Glory, wherein Rexon and company "reimaged" some of their most famous songs and dropped several new songs. Crazy Lixx would the go on to have a successful tour of Central and South America, beginning with the 2024 Monsters Of Rock Cruise. The summer was completed with an appearance at Germany's Rock Of Ages Festival in July. Now, Crazy Lixx drops thier latest and ninth studio album, Thrill Of The Bite.

Rexon had these comments about the new album: "So stoked to finally reveal the news of our upcoming album ... Even though we did release some new songs on the compilation album ... it has been quite a while since the fans got a proper full length studio album with all originals ... And dare I say that this album is one really worth waiting for? Personally, I'm really proud and happy with how it came out ..."

Musically, to fans and readers, Crazy Lixx needs little introduction. They rose in the early 21st during the rise of the so-called New Wave of Swedish Sleaze Metal. It's Eighties deja vu all over again as Crazy Lixx revisits the Sunset Strip groove of twin guitar driven melodic hard rock with a definitive metal edge. From the gate the songs are riff-roaring, fast and heavy, catchy rockers with big refrains and ripping guitar solos, andh no room for some lame-ass ballad. So then, some examples and personal favorites would include Recipe For Revolution, Hunt For Danger, Call Of The Wild, and Who Said Rock N' Roll Is Dead.

All in all, if you're a fan of classic Eighties, leather and bullet belt, melodic metal rock, you'll find that Crazy Lixx keeps the flag flying with their contemporary interpretaion and latest album, Thrill Of The Bite. Easily recommended.
