Already receiving substantial press overseas in Europe and their UK home, Savage Messiah are ripping it up with their fresh and enthusiastic modern vision of classic heavy metal on Insurrection Rising. Their appellation is fitting as their metal is 'savage' with old school heavy and thrash metal merging into intense modern melodic metal without its hardcore harshness. And that's why 'messiah' may also fits so well as they may be modern metal's saviors. Savage Messiah does not depend on constant and chunking riffing, growling unintelligible vocals, or hardcore vulgarity to bring their ferocious metal. And, incidentally, all members are exceptional and rather technical musicians. Listen to the mammoth arrangements and expert displays on Corruption X, In Absence of Liberty, or Vigil of the Navigator: all exceptional and thrilling metal pieces. Insurrection Rising could be exactly what it implies: a rebellion against the horrible status quo of modern metal. Thankfully, we'll all be the better for it. Savage Messiah is metal, and Insurrection Rising is a crown jewel. Very recommended!
