Miracle Master: Tattooed Woman
Miracle Master Tattooed Woman CD Album Review

Miracle Master: Tattooed Woman

Melodic Hard Rock/Metal
4.0/5.0

Fans of German hard and heavy rockers Pump will recognize Miracle Master: it's Pump with new vocalist Oliver Weers (Oliver Weers Band, Ripe, D.I.M.). It appears founding member of Pump and lead singer Marcus Jürgens left the band and, wanting a fresh start I suppose, the band changed their name.

Miracle Master: there was a sale on sunglasses.

Having not had the privilege of hearing a Pump album, I suspect nothing much has changed in terms of musical style, just the voice. Weers has a strong, sometimes, raspy, but always melodic style, good for both hard rock and heavy metal. And that's pretty much where Miracle Master's music falls, somewhere in between, but likely leaning more towards melodic heavy metal.

Come Alive, We All Touch Evil, Why Religion, and the almost power metal Miracle Masters easily fit the heavy metal bill. Highway To Heaven adds a twist to the metal, offering a clear blues angle at the start. Things turning more towards heavier melodic hard rock might include Forgive Yourself and Tattooed Woman, yet they more likely blur the line once more. What you don't have here is a single ballad which, I gather, is by choice, the band wanting stick to kick you in the ass metal rock for this change. What you do get is one tough and blistering rhythm section and lots of scorching guitar solos behind Weers's vocal power. And movie poster theme for album art work is quite clever.

Name change or not, Pump or Miracle Master, with Oliver Weers behind the microphone, this band has not skipped a beat in this transition. This is proper melodic hard rock and heavy metal.
