Sometimes known as Denmark's best selling power metal band, Iron Fire returns with their latest and ninth studio album, Beyond The Void. While not quite as prolific as they were between 2006 and 2012, the power trio remains stable and consistent, still flying the flag of "keep it true" heavy metal.
With Beyond The Void, Iron Fire delivers an intro and 11 more songs of heavy metal variety. With Beyond The Void, Final Warning, and Old Habits Die Hard, you get a thick mix of both heavy and power metal. Yet with To Hell And Back and The Devils Path, Iron Fire adds nitro to their gasoline for galloping power metal. Alternatively, with Bones And Gasoline they deliver, essentially, heavy metal rock. Bookended by light electric guitar, the song moves with the heaviness of metal in the wrapper of rock groove. Wrong Turn also has some groove, but moves more upon the big drums and thick bass of the rhythm section. Something more heavy and steady arrives with the riff thick and bass thundering Judgment Day. Throughout, your treated to some terrific solos from guitar slinger Kirk Backarach. All in all, for traditional European heavy power metal Iron Fire once more delivers the goods with Beyond The Void. Recommended.
